Colour continuation and adaptation

The Pantone colour forecasts for London and New York Spring 2024 have been published and true to the prediction that palettes would be unlikely to see considerable change, an overwhelming colour shift seems to have given way to subtle adaptation to promote sustainability and longevity.

New neutrals and understated change.

Each palette includes a range of updated neutrals that either work alone or underpin the colours - another sign that we might see fewer changes and minimal updates bringing fresh looks rather than radical colour trend change (certainly while there is a more intense focus on the benefits of sustainability and move away form fast fashion). There is a slight difference between the London and New York offerings, but it is intriguing to see the predicted similarities in both reports.

Gender neutral and strength in colour

The colour palettes continue to build on both inclusivity and season neutrality. The colour trend concept continues to reflect personal power, individuality and strength - an extension of the story we saw developing following the pandemic and in reflection of global issues.

From fashion to art

Fashion forecast colours influence future trends, so are a useful tool to adapt for staying on trend in developing design. It will be interesting to see how these get picked up and what the major colour trends for product and home will be in Spring Summer 2024. In the meantime, they're a good pointer for your 2024 art and design projects.
